This privacy policy applies to your use of the Pool Watcher mobile app for iOS and Android™, developed by CMon Apps. Pool Watcher helps cryptocurrency miners monitor their wallets and mining workers, and receive notifications when a worker goes offline. We respect your privacy and keep data collection to the strict minimum required for the app to work.
Information You Provide
- No account required. There is no registration, and we never ask for your name, email address, or any other personal identity information.
- Wallet addresses. The wallet addresses you enter to monitor your mining pools are the main user-provided data.
- Optional pool API keys. Some mining pools require an API key to fetch statistics. If you provide one, it is used only to query that pool on your behalf.
- App preferences. Settings such as alert thresholds, monitor period, quiet hours, and currency are stored locally on your device.
How the App Works & What Is Transmitted
To monitor your wallets and deliver offline-worker alerts, the app communicates with our backend service. For this purpose the following data is transmitted:
- Anonymous installation ID — a random identifier generated on your device. It is not linked to your identity.
- Your wallet addresses — used to query mining pool statistics and detect worker status.
- Push notification token — required to deliver alerts to your device.
This data is used solely to provide the monitoring and notification features you requested. We do not sell, rent, or share it with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on a small number of trusted third-party services:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications to your device.
- RevenueCat — processes and manages premium subscriptions. RevenueCat receives the anonymous installation ID and purchase status, never your wallet data.
- Google AdMob — displays banner ads in the free version of the app. Ads are removed with a premium subscription. Google may process standard advertising-related device information as described in Google's privacy policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — handle all subscription payments. We never see or store your payment details.
- Mining pool APIs (e.g. Braiins Pool, ViaBTC) — your wallet address is sent to the respective pool to retrieve your mining statistics.
Location Information
The app does not request, collect, or use your location in any way.
Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your store account settings. We do not have access to your payment information.
Data Retention & Your Rights
- Wallet data and preferences are stored locally on your device and can be edited or deleted within the app at any time.
- Our backend keeps only the minimal records needed for monitoring (installation ID, wallet addresses, notification token). Removing a wallet in the app also removes it from our backend.
- To delete all remaining data, simply uninstall the app using your device's standard uninstall process.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
All communication with our backend is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We keep the amount of stored data to a minimum to reduce risk. Still, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date.
Changes to This Policy
Updates to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Terms of Use
For iOS downloads, the app is licensed under Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA).
